Set the sequence before the moving truck arrives

Write down the move-out date, access arrangements and any final inspection appointment. If cleaners will attend after you leave, agree how they will enter and who will be available to answer questions. Keep the utilities needed for the agreed work available until it is finished.

Separate the whole-property clean from carpet treatment in your plan. BubblePro handles carpet-cleaning enquiries; the same operating company also runs MoveOut for wider property cleaning. Confirm the scope of each job instead of assuming every task is included in one booking.

  • Identify what is staying and what will be removed.
  • Note the rooms, appliances and surfaces that need attention.
  • Tell the cleaner about parking, stairs and key access.
  • Leave a sensible gap between cleaning, drying and the final walk-through.

Kitchen: open the doors and drawers

An empty kitchen is easier to check. Look inside drawers, cupboards and appliances as well as across the visible benches. The supplied work photographs show why: small debris inside a drawer and residue above a rangehood are easy to overlook from the doorway.

Agree whether the oven, refrigerator, dishwasher components and rangehood are included. Appliance parts and finishes differ, so cleaning should follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Mention anything that is loose, damaged or not working before the visit.

Bathroom: check the lower edges as well as the mirror

Look at the shower tray, screen frame, tap bases, vanity storage and visible drain opening. Our photo collection includes both a shower tray and a drain: they are separate details that deserve separate attention.

Flag a slow drain, failed seal, damaged finish or recurring surface marks as an issue to assess. A clean-looking surface does not confirm that a plumbing or moisture problem has been repaired. Keep cleaning tasks and maintenance concerns clearly recorded.

The paired views show the shower tray surface around the drain. Phone shadows and lighting are visible in both photographs.

Living areas: blinds, walls and carpet access

Once furniture and loose items have been removed, check the areas they covered. Look at blind slats, accessible skirting boards, shelf interiors and obvious wall marks. The blind comparison at the top of this guide shows how much of the surface sits out of sight when you only glance across a room.

For carpet cleaning, identify each carpeted room and any stairs or hallway sections. Tell us about marks and previous treatments, and agree what furniture remains. Avoid moving boxes back across the working area while the clean is in progress.

  • Clear the areas included in the clean.
  • Keep remaining furniture and fragile items accounted for.
  • Point out existing wear or damage before work starts.
  • Ask for drying and aftercare guidance for the actual carpet and conditions.

Finish with a record of the property

Walk through the property when the agreed cleaning is complete. Take overall room photographs and close views of any matters you want to record. Keep the cleaning scope and any invoice with your moving documents.

Tenancy Services recommends arranging the final inspection after belongings have been removed and cleaning is finished, where possible, and suggests taking photographs. Use its current guidance for tenancy responsibilities or a disputed requirement. A cleaning service cannot decide the outcome of a bond refund.

Plan the next step

For the carpet part of your move, send your suburb, room list and intended handover date. We will check coverage and discuss a suitable cleaning arrangement.
